Resin bound surfacing is a great choice and provides a firm and attractive surface for driveways, car parks, pathways, terraces, courtyards and swimming pool surrounds etc. It is a particularly good choice for decorative areas, it has a glossy, smooth look that can be produced in a hundreds of different colour combinations, effects and designs.

Our naturally sourced stones are a mixture of aggregates including gravel, shingle, quartz and crushed granite. The stones can be angular or smooth and come in a variety of sizes, from 1mm to 5mm pieces. They are also available in an array of colours, either a single colour or a blend of a few colours.

Resin bound driveway

Resin bound surfacing can be laid over the top of existing or new concrete or tarmac to create beautiful drives, paths and car parks. It is permeable, containing tiny holes that allows any surface water to drain through, reducing the risk of flooding in large areas.

Resin bound is a mixture of naturally sourced stones and a strong durable UV stable resin. Once the stones and resin are mixed, it is then poured and hand trowelled onto the driveway to create an attractive, seamless and smooth finish.

Because a resin bound surface requires superior materials and skilled manual installation by surfacing experts, it can often cost a bit more than some other surfacing options, but the end result make this a worthwhile investment.

Differences between resin bound and resin bonded

Many people get confused with the difference between resin bonded and resin bound. West London Surfacing provide both types of surfacing and can advice you on the right choice of surfacing for your project.

Resin bound is when clear resin and aggregate are mixed together thoroughly before being laid. This results in a smooth finish with no loose stones.

Resin bonded is when clear resin is laid first, then the aggregate is scattered over the top, completely covering the resin. Once cured, any excess stones are swept up.
